Use Netvibes To Manage Your Writing Projects
One thing I am finding as I grow my writing empire, start to balance more plates on sticks, is that I need some sort of system to track it all.
I’ve done Covey’s “7 Habits”, I’ve toyed with Guru-Of-The-Moment David Allen’s “Getting Things Done”, but they all seem to really be over thinking the issue. I prefer the words of Thoreau, who chided us to “Simplify, simplify, simplify!”
I basically wanted a tool that would allow me some sort of central depository. A place where I could get my To Do list out of my brain and into something tangible and protected and trusted. In other words, I wouldn’t lose it, and it would be there when I needed it.
Right now I am using a website called Netvibes to manage my lists and notes.
It’s web-based, so it doesn’t care if you are a PC person or a mac person.
It doesn’t care if you have Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari browser.
Merely go there, sign up for an account (it’s free) and start adding modules and tabs. To get a peek into my brain and how I’m using Netvibes, click here for a big screen shot.
Now, Netvibes can do a million other things, too.
Check your Yahoo!, Hotmail or Gmail.
Collect your RSS feeds.
Monitor your Netflix queue.
Manage your Flickr account.
I highly recommend Netvibes. Let me know how it works for you, how you use it in your daily life, your creative life, your writing life.
