Wednesday Weblinks

Gizmonics Institute Patch – Okay, so maybe you don’t want to rock the LOST Dharma Initiative jumpsuit. How about the MST3k Gizmonics Institute jumpsuit?
Now that you’ve got the jumpsuit, why not build your own Tom Servo or Crow T. Robot?
Fitness Black Book – Despite it’s secret sounding title, Rusty Moore actually gives out pretty solid diet and exercise advice on his blog. He advocates a toned, lean, “Hollywood” look, as opposed to juice-fed bodybuilder bulk. Highly recommend you download his free “Vacation Body Blueprint”, as Summer’s only a few months away.
Clicker – Or, for you nerds, the one video site to rule them all. Clicker is a online video aggregator that scrapes pretty much any site you can think of, from Hulu to Comedy Central for content then puts it in a searchable database. It doesn’t host the videos, only provides you with a link to them. There’s so much random and unknown stuff out there. I did a search for “vegan” and found half hour vegan cooking shows that were wonderful. It’s like one stop shopping for online videos.
Now I want to turn you on to some great blogs to read. I use Google Reader. If you’re not familiar with RSS and blogs and RSS Readers, here’s a great article for beginners.
Now, on to the blogs:
First let me say that I am a big fan of Leo Babuta. Leo’s an amazing man, a great blogger and someone whose minimalist mindset really syncs up with my own. He’s a prolific blogger, as well. Here are a few of his sites, any of which I think might interest you:
-
Zen Habits – Improving your life and increasing your productivity, one day at a time.
-
Zen To Fitness – Taking that minimalist mindset and exploring the world of health and fitness. Eating healthy and exercising should not be difficult.
-
The Minimalist Approach – Taking the minimalist mindset and applying it to pretty much everything. Not for the faint of heart.
Free Will Astrology – Not really a believer, but if I had to go with one system of thought, it would be Rob Brezny’s.
Creating A Better Life – A new blog to my reader, but the creator, Lyman Reed, seems to really have done his homework and has a great collection of back entries to peruse.
Corner Gas on YouTube – I’ve mentioned my love for the late, great Canadian TV show Corner Gas. I loved it because it was smart. It was a great combination of Seinfeld and The Andy Griffith Show. Small town snark and wit. Now you can watch it for free! I hope you’ll take the time to watch an episode or two and get to know the characters who inhabit the town of Dog River.
