Writing

I hold a BA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University (’94) and my story “Super Heroes”, won the 1991 Bay Guardian Fiction Contest.

My first mystery novel “Resurrection Angel” was a finalist for both the St. Martins Press Best First Mystery Novel, and for the Private Eye Writers of America Shamus Award for Best First Novel of the Year, becoming the first self-published novel to be nominated for a major publishing award.

I created the award winning podcast “Bill Watches Movies”,where I rambled about old monster movies. I described it as the love child of Old Time Radio and Mystery Science Theater 3000; it was a 3 time nominee for the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Best Podcast of the Year.

After more than two decades away from the short story and the novel, I’ve decided to sit down at the desk again, and see what happens.

You can see a list of all my published work, stories, articles, essays, novels and non-fiction work here.
